Get Up!!
Woke up to see Kris off this morning... something I've stopped doing for a long time... It feels good to get up early... and now that I'm looking for a job, I'd better practise sleeping & waking up early!! Cos everyone who knows me well enough knows I'm not easy to wake!! Mom & dad tried pulling off my doonah, sprinkling water on my face, tickling my toes, switching the TV & radio on, calling my mobile and my bedroom phone... anything... just to get me out of bed daily!! Sometimes it works... Usually on Sundays when we go to the central to get breakkie as a whole family... Once a week is not really enough to be as a family unit!! That's why I always relish on going out together with Mommy & Bak. But now that I'm in Australia, I yearn for it more & more!!

Spoke to mom over the phone & she mentioned how sad Bak was when he didn't get anything from Kris & I in the package we sent them thru Willy & Shan... msgd him saying we forgot to put his parcel in there cos we were rushing... He thot we forgot about him... and you know we won't forget you, Bak! We'll go get him something else tonite other than the t-shirt...

I'll have to start working on these selection criteria for my resume if I want to let Aunty Jan review it!! It's a PH on Monday, so at least Kris won't mind going on a Sunday... but I dunno if it'll be ready by then... I'll have to work on it a bit harder tmrw then... cos tonite I don't think I'll have the time to... Dinner & then rushing off to the shops... hopefully they're open... I really wanna go to Crossroads & get a few tops for work & social. I need 2 pairs of capri pants - beige & blue. Cos beige fits with most of my pink, red, brown & purple tops... and blue fits most everything, especially the blue tops that predominantly occupy my wardrobe.

Last nite I wore the red flowery capri that Kris got me on Tuesday. He initially didn't like it at the store... but last nite he said it's very summery & was beginning to like it on me!! And that one, I can only wear with my orange, red & white tops!! I've got a lime green capri - I only have a couple of green spag tops & most people know I don't wear spag tops without a cardi or a poncho... So, it gives me the opportunity to wear the crotchet poncho that he thot makes me look like a nanna... Well, what do guys know about fashion? And if u gals out there don't realise it already, crotchet fashion is IN big this & coming season!!

About tonite, I think I may get a few girly tops cos I don't think I'm girly enough!! And a couple of ponchos!! Now that it's gone down in price, I don't Kris will mind it that much, even though it's still see-through... hehehhee...

Earlier today, I received an SMS stating that there might be a virus associated with seafood due to the tsunami... Just to be on the safe side, I shall go get a bag of frozen fish for stock knowing that it's been captured before the incident.

It saddens me much more now to see the number of deaths rising due to the water-born diseases that came after the devastation of earthquakes and tsunamis!! My prayers go out to everyone affected & hope relief will come your way soon. And I think USA should give more aid!! $35m is nothing if u compare to the billions of dollars already spent for the IRAQI war!! If you can afford to use up that much to blow people up, you can afford the same to save innocent lives!!! And to think your people are also among the dead & wounded!! Show your people they are more valuable than just oil!! At least show them some respect!!

Literally Broke
Kris just transferred $100,000 capital investment for my PR. And after that, we went to the shops to see if we can find a Crossroads store in Westfield Maddington, cos they're having 20 - 70% sale!! Since we can't find any, we went to WA Salvage to see if we could get the suspension file box for our paperworks... and only found out that it was not completely A4!! So, we went to Makro next door & bought 2 capri pants from Millers... The products in Makro are so much cheaper than WA Salvage & they're also cleaner & more organised!! But there's not many stuff as in JB & KL...

Reviewing what is left of our savings, we can't help but wonder about the plight of all the tsunami victims and what they'll need to continue surviving. It is times like this that we count our blessings to have a wonderful family all safe & sound.

And to Nor, who is currently in Medan, please contact us in any way u can if you're ok. We're pretty worried for you.

All Work & No Play
Xmas was good at Preston Beach!!

Drove thru Waroona instead of the usual straight-but-busy-road thru Mandurah on the eve. The Coronation Road to get to the main road was spooky. Kangaroos were hopping across the streets, bunnies were in & out of the burrows which surprisingly were just on the verges and there was even a flat fox (roadkill). But we got to the house ok, late but still, ok.

Xmas morning, I was woken up by Tasha & her chrissy singings & the TV at 5am!! Finally managed to open my eyes at 6am... And both of us sat in the lounge started exchanging & opening gifts!! Aunty Jan joined us & there were MORE PRESSIES!!! hehehe... As the entire house was stirring when one by one the others got up, we had a barbie breakfast!! I mean, what else can we have in a beach house? hehe...

Kris & I went for a walk around the national park but decided there were too many roo poo for us to go on any further, especially with me wearing a sequinned slipper!! When we got back, everyone else have already got back from their swim at the beach... Had another shower, another rest & a late lunch... Dinnertime, Bak Nor arrived after work & it was his turn to open the gifts.

Boxing Day saw a lot of aunts, uncles, cousins & a niece as well as Kaye & Ali with their daughters. Denise was the first to arrive with Ashley and Princess, their greyhound-looking whippit. Anyway, after lunch & desserts, we had to rush off, leaving them all there at the house. Kris was glad to get out of there... There was no air-con & it was really getting crowded.

Along the 2hr drive, we were lucky to have Gosnells Railway Markets open cos we had to get Greg & Lindsay's gifts. Les got a Darrell Lea Rocklea Road, Greg got a Holden vs Ford T-shirt & Lindsay got a Holden poster. And I made a banana bread for them to take home to Meckering. Mind you, I had to rush thru making the pavlova desserts and the bread!! But when the boys were here, we had fun!!

And today, Kris & I are really tired... so, we're just gonna rest... Hope everyone had a great xmas!!

Up & About...
Standing in the middle of the lounge, gleaming & noticing my entire house is spick & span after a bout of springcleaning by moi yesterday - oh, Kris cleaned the bathroom. But the phonecall from Shan, mom's friend who is on tour with her parents, hubby & 3 daughters, kinda made the effort futile!! They're not coming!! Well, they're still in Perth, just that Kris & I will have to go meet up with them at the Criterion Hotel lobby in the city...

I asked her, "How will I recognise you?" Then, remembering she's met the entire family in Sgp, I quickly interrupted myself (if that's possible). "Oh, never mind. I look exactly like my sis, except I'm much fatter & darker skinned." Alright, so we're not EXACTLY alike... but I'm sure Shan & hubby will recognise me in that dimly lit hotel lobby which I've passed by everytime we were in the city. Well, not everytime... oh, never mind!!

I had the entire evening planned out for today: Kris comes home from work, shower & we jump into the van, pick the 7 of them from the hotel, take them back to our home via Kelvin Road so that the kids can see the sheep, horses, cows and even a pretty house with a large pond that has a pretty white bridge in their large pretty garden amongst the farms.

Upon arrival, I'll serve them with a fruit-topping & creamed pavlova and banana cake that I've prepared before picking them up and coffee for the adults. And for the 3 kids, I'll give each of them a chocky hamper that comes with a small gift inside & serve them cordial or juice.

And after inspecting the house, like every visitor always does to a new place, we'll sit down & chat for a bit before we go to the nearby Westfield Carousel, the biggest mall in Perth, for some shopping before we lug them back to the hotel & say our courteous goodbyes... Now, that sounds like a plan, right? .... NO!!

They're not coming!! So, we'll go meet them instead for some coffee & cake at the hotel cafe... Oh well, it's alright I guess. Will just have to have dinner earlier so that we can go to Target to get the double air-mattress that Kris wants to bring to Preston. We'll probably go to the city Target instead. Can u imagine the traffic tonite?! ~argh~ I can!!

I'll go prepare dinner now ~sigh~ (looking down, dragging feet and waves).

Major Cleanup
I've finally cleaned out most of the junk off the spare bed in my office!! There are still many things in this room for me to clear out but I'm fire-fighting right now... My parents' friends are already here in Perth for their tour... and they might be coming over tomorrow for a visit... So, that's why the frenzy!! Still have the bathroom, toilet, kitchen & lounge to clean... HECK!! That's the entire house!! ~argh!~

I was thinking of doing some laundry so that I can be at the beach house on the weekends without worrying about Kris not having anything to wear for work when we get back. But then, I don't wanna have my linens out at the backyard when we have guests... It's not that sunny today so it means that I'll have to leave them out there overnight... that's why... And I can't use the dryer cos I've got some clothes in there that are not meant to be in the tumble dryer!! So there!!

Saw Curlz online earlier only to realise that she was packing up her lappy... She was in a mad rush to get to the airport & her lappy was the last one to be packed... and her flight is at 3pm... and I dash-chatted with her at 1pm!! I hope someone's sending her & her cuzz off... Hmmm... I thot u've gotta check in 3hrs before your flight if u're going to the US? Has it changed again? Hmmm... De toute facon, avoir un voyage sur a Floride, Curlz. Et s'amuser la-bas!

I've got my immigration papers & can't wait to get the papers back to their office... but I've got a few matters to attend to... and I think I'll have to go get the Federal Police Clearance again cos the WA Treasury Corp will take a few days to hand me the stock bond cert... and it'll take a few days to get it back to immigration & by then, my police clearance will already have gone way over the validation period... ~sigh~ If that happens, then it'll be another month before I get my PR... but I'll see how it goes first... We'll do the WATC bonds, get the certs, fax them over to immigration, send the original & wait for their reply... If they ask me to get another police clearance, I guess I'll just have to do it then...

After all these, I'll have a lot of things to do... sort the accounts, file all the paperwork & finally throw more things out... For now, I'm just contented to go scrub that bathroom tiles... Well, not really...

Great News
Last Friday, my case officer from the immigration contacted me & told me the great news that I'll be able to get my residency as soon as some paperwork's been done & the capital investment has gone thru... So, the weekend frenzy started!!

Well, actually the weekend was more for grocery shopping!! harharhar... And Sunday shopping at Westfield Carousel was crazy!! It's not only that xmas is near, but people are waiting for sunday trading to come thru for them here... I mean, people like us who works 6-day weeks have to take a day off or wait for late nite retail just to get something from the shops find that totally ridiculous!! I don't think there's any other parts of the world besides this continent that has retail opening hours same to that of most office hours!! When do these people go shopping?!

Luckily we have Bunnings 2 minutes drive away!! We bought a beach brolly for our beach xmas at Preston Beach!! How beachy is that? hehehe... We placed it on our outdoor table set & becos it's not meant for it, it looked a bit ridiculous, but it's ok for our personal use... Maybe next yr after our backyard is done, we'll get our jarrah outdoor table set with its canvas brolly... Then again, I think Kris wants to add a backyard sail... so, we won't need the brolly after all... But we'll need a grand barbie pit to accompany that table setting!! hehehe...

Dream barbieWe've been looking at a few & the one we like most is the 4-burner gas one with the plate, the grill & separate cooktop - very similar to this one I'm showing... We saw a really good one in Big-W & it wouldn't cost us an arm & a leg either... But for now, we'll have to put these ideas in the drawer & get moving with the backyard... then, we'll talk!!

I've got tonnes of things to do before the Goh family comes over this Thursday... I'll have to get everything ready for them to bring home to my family in Sgp & I'm only left with letters cos everything else is ready. Also, need to get the house cleaned, especially my office, which is the sorriest state I've seen!! It won't be sorry for too long!! And then, the bathroom - cos Kris said kids always need to use the toilet... and they're bringing 3 young children with them!! I also have to get my paperwork sorted cos the immigration papers will come shortly & I wanna get everything ready & waiting when it gets here for processing. And if I get them done late, I'll have to work against the clock with the Xmas LONG hols & New Yr hols too!! So, I'm going off now to start on that one first!! And I'll do it happily knowing that my PR will be arriving soon... =)

It's a Wrap!
Kris came home extremely early hoping I was ready for the trip to the doctor's but I wasn't. The table was filled with stuff & the house wasn't cleaned!! Oh yeah, I skipped the clean-up session yesterday & decided to wrap all the xmas pressies & laid out all the curling ribbons, tapes, tissues - the whole lot - on the dining table. He wasn't impressed!! Well, I didn't feel like cleaning up... I was inspired!!

So, after the doctor's & leftover dinner, I started wrapping all these weird shape pressies meant for our Perth fam whom we celebrate xmas with every yr and this yr it's gonna be at the beach house. It's gonna be 3million degrees there!!! I can already see myself melting!! And I wrapped Les' gift too... Les is Kris' former kind neighbour who still comes visiting from time to time. We're not sure if we're gonna see him, Greg (Les' nephew & buddy) & Lindsay (Les' tenant) this chrissy before we head off to the beach house, cos they stay 3hr away up north & we're going 2hr down south... With Les, u'll never know. He might just appear on your doorstep. So, we thot we'd better be ready if he does come around... What to get for Greg & Lindsay, we still don't know!!

Anyway, now that the house is filled with gifts & wrappers everywhere, it is my duty to really start cleaning since I messed it up!! So, here goes...

Changes
... in life are inevitable.

I've made a move from the old site to this new one, and picked up a new chatbox as well... I'll leave the Tagboard on the previous site and embrace this shoutbox. In fact, I've changed the colour theme from mintygreen to this one called something-silver... even though it doesn't look silvery to me... I was hoping to be able to change the entire colour-settings myself... but this one will do...

After turning 31 some 4 days ago, I do admit I'm somewhat pensive of the future... There are yet 2 changes I would like to see before this year is up... First, is for my application for Permanent Residency to Australia be approved - I only have one hurdle at the moment & am waiting for them to contact me with the paperwork. And with that, comes my second change - to quickly apply for a job before all the new graduates grab them...

And what's so new about that, u may ask... Well, if I were to get a similar job as I had back in Sgp handling Student & Personal Development as well as Arts, then, there won't be much changes. However, if I were to be lucky & get a job in Public Relations or MIS, then it would seem very daunting, don't u think? Whatever it is, I'll always try & do my best...

Right now, I have to fulfill the other new change I had volunteered since early this year, which my beloved friend Feryl calls the UH - the Ultimate Homemaker! I'll be busy with cleaning the entire house, including the bath & toilet before the day is done!! And as soon as Kris gets home, we'll have to go to the Medical Centre to pick up my blood test result & have a chat with my doctor about it.

Till the next posting, I bid u well...
